Alistair Miller - Climate Change 101 (PDF) Although his career has been in chemical engineering, Alistair Miller has had a lifelong fascination with weather and climatology. Within his career as a researcher with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, he worked extensively on processes for heavy water production, purification, and hydrogen. He was President of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering in 1997-98 and a signatory to both the London and Melbourne Communiqués on Sustainable Development. He has a BSc in Applied Chemistry from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of London (Imperial College). Married with four grown children (three engineers and a biologist), he shares with his wife a love of outdoor pursuits such as cross-country skiing, cycling, hiking, and gardening as well as storytelling to his eight grandchildren. Bill Tharp - Opportunities in the Energy and Efficiency Marketplaces (PDF) Bill Tharp is the CEO of Quantum Leap Co. and works to build value in energy and efficiency. Prior to Leap, he founded 3 businesses. Mr. Tharp has 10 years experience in merchant banking in Canada and the UK, with added experience as an entrepreneur in the alternative energy and efficiency marketplace. He is on the board of directors of LEAP and various asset managing and technology companies. Ken Nakahara - Ontario's Agenda for Energy Conservation (PDF) Mr. Nakahara is currently working as a senior policy advisor in the Office of Conservation and Strategic Policy at the Ministry of Energy. His work involves advising the government on conservation issues and helping to develop government policy in this area. Richard Procter - Green Project Update (PDF) Mr. Procter is the President of the Power-Up Renewable Energy Co-Operative of which Reduce the Juice is a Pilot Project. Randy Dryburgh - Green Power Project Update (PDF) The Green Power Project at CDDHS is now into its third and final phase and is generating power and feeding it back into the grid.
