Who we are
The Orangeville Business Conservation Initiative is a pilot project of the Reduce the Juice Foundation designed to increase the energy efficiency of businesses in Orangeville. The project aims to employ university age students to deliver a mix of education and incentives to small businesses in their community to inspire them to make energy efficiency upgrades. The project is planned to run from the beginning of May through the end of August 2007 during the University students’ summer vacation.
We are proud to have two RTJ veterans returning to run the Business Conservation Initiative Phoebe Lusk and Sara Wicks were both University team leaders for the Orangeville Community Energy Conservation Project.
Sara Wicks was a team leader in last year’s Reduce the Juice residential campaign and has returned this summer as one of the Project Coordinators for the Reduce the Juice Business Conservation Initiative. She is going into her third year at the University of Guelph for International Development in the Biophysical Environment. Since the project has been such a great success, and has proved to be a great opportunity to make a difference, she is very excited for the project to expand into Wellington region. Her goal in life is to change the world.
Phoebe Lusk is a graduate of the University of Guelph. She received her Bachelor of Arts in the English Honours program this past April. Phoebe was a Team Leader for the 2006 Reduce the Juice Residential Conservation Initiative and is now a Project Coordinator for the Business Conservation Initiative. Working for Reduce the Juice has been the best summer job a student could ask for, and she will continue working towards bettering the environment no matter what field she is in. When Phoebe is not Reducing the Juice she enjoys leisure reading, staying active and spending time outside.
